The Conclave of Musicians & Directors of Baltimore, Maryland(CMD) was organized in November 2014 under the visionary of Dr. Russell Lee Johnson.

After its initial concert, a group of Musicians and Directors gathered and agreed that the love and fellowship amongst the Musicians and Directors could not go unnoticed and thus formed the Conclave. Our mission is to inspire, cultivate, and educate musicians and directors in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.

We strive to preserve the musical heritage of the black churches of Baltimore and vicinity through a fellowship of musicians, directors, and songwriters spanning many eras. As musicians and directors of sacred music we love our colleagues, so we exist to be a means of support and mentorship for them in the work of music ministry.
